Meeting Role Guides

Club members serve in a variety of roles that change each week. Below are guides you can follow to help you be successful. Note that almost all of these roles have assignments in the Competent Leader manual so that you can receive feedback.

All members and guests should do the following:

  1. Get the forms you need before you sit down:
    1. A meeting agenda
    2. An evaluation form for each speaker in the meeting.
    3. A voting sheet to vote for best speaker, best evaluator, best table topics, and 'spark plug'. The spark plug winner is the person you believe 'added a little extra spark' to the meeting.
    4. If you are timer, ah counter, or grammarian get the associated sheet you need for your role if needed (you can use a blank sheet of paper also).
    5. An introduction form if you are speaker, evaluator, toastmaster, general evaluator, or table topics master.
      Look on the agenda to see who will be introducing you to speak at the front of the room; typically:
    • Speaker -> Toastmaster
    • General Evaluator -> Toastmaster
    • Table Topic Master -> General Evaluator
    • Evaluator -> General Evaluator
  2. Greet members and guests that arrive.
    1. Help guests get set up with all the forms they need and consider befriending the guest at the meeting ( there is a project in the Competent Leader manual ).
